Source Material
Issue 01: Missed Connections
Publication Design
Source Material is a student-led biannual publication hosted by the Writing Center at ArtCenter College of Design. The team focuses on creating content that celebrates multidisciplinary collaboration and highlights student narratives outside classroom and department walls. Missed Connections is a reflection on the fleeting feelings of pre- and present- pandemic contact between every one of us.

In collaboration with V.E. Chen, Maggie Lee, Diane Lac, and Reuben Merringer.
The name, Source Material, comes directly from the idea of collecting material and content directly from the ArtCenter community and for future teams to build upon the source material of what has been done prior.
The publication is not only student-led but also entirely student-driven, featuring writing, visual work, and typefaces made by students. For Issue 01, we also held a paper drive where students donated paper that they had in excess.
As a result, we created 300 unique copies, each with a different sequence of colored paper, all put together by hand. We also built four shelves that housed the publications and distributed them around campus.
